".ME" - NEW INTERNET DOMAIN OF MONTENEGRO

A registration of ".me" internet domain (instead of currently used ".cg.yu" domain) is in process. Registration procedure consists of the following phases:

1. Montenegrin Sunrise - from 1st to 6th May during which Montegrin legal entities registered before June 28th 2008 or that have their trademark registered before the same date,  apply for registration.
2. General Sunrise - from 6th to 20thMay when all foreign and national legal entities registered before June 28th 2008 or that have their trademark registered before the same date, apply for registration.
3. Land Rush - from 6th to 26th June during which foreign and national legal entities and natural persons can apply for registration.
4. Open Registration - from July 17th registration open for all interested parties.

During Sunrise and Land Rush periods first application right (first come - first served) is not applied. If different parties apply for the same domain name, they take part in an auction and the name is then assigned to the auction winner.

In the Open registration procedure, first application right is applied, meaning that the name of domain is obtained by the party that applied first.

All domains registered under ".cg.yu" domain, related to registered identities seated in Montenegro will be available for at least 12 months following the September 25th 2007 as the day of official opening of the ".me" domain and, in other words, of the final closing of the ".cg.yu" domain. From the day of official opening of the  ".me" domain, new domains related to registered identities seated in Montenegro can not be registered under ".cg.yu" domain.
